Situated in the south of the Balearic islands, Ibiza is the third in extension of the archipelago and together with its smaller sister Formentera forms the "Pitiusas" (Islands with Pines) . With their special location on the Mediterranean and their proximity to the coasts of Africa they benefit from a generally warm Mediterranean climate, having dry summers with a temperature of ..25 – 30 degrees. The winters are humid with little rain, allowing you to enjoy a pleasant stay on the island year round.
Ibiza town is the most emblematic
and famous name on the island. Its reduced size and small population
increases exponentially when summer arrives and at that time blooms
into a cosmopolitan city full of people of all cultures and giving
Ibiza its diversity from the tourists who arrive from all over the world
The
true heart of the city is the harbour, which ajoins the majestic walled
Old Town known as "Dalt Villa." A walk through its cobbled streets up
to its highest point is worthwhile From here you can contemplate the
magnificent view of the harbour and bay.
The
harbour is, in summer, the hub of nightlife. You can enjoy a dinner of
freshly caught fish, or stroll through the shops where you will find
local fashion stores also selling locally made designs.
Dozens
of vendors will try to sell you entrance tickets to clubs and discos,
or offer you drinks at the local bars and terraces , abundant in the
area. You may well see faces that you have seen before on Television or
in Movies as Ibiza attracts a lot of famous people during the summer
months.
You
are sure to be lucky enough to catch a live performance of one of the
many comic street artists or hear a melody from the violin of a street
musician, in any case your fun and enjoyment are assured.
